Out-of-Box Experience of the Meta Quest 3

These slides were presented as my final project for my Advanced User Experience course.

Study Summary

In this short OOBE study consisting of 6 undergraduate psychology students with some to no-VR experience, the first impressions, unboxing, and initial use cases were analyzed. Key findings were that participants found the packaging organization to be ideal and enjoyed the Mixed Reality interaction with their real environment. The challenges, however, were that the headset was difficult to adjust and did not accommodate for smaller head sizes and figuring out the hand gesture inputs. Recommendations were to improve the head strap for easier adjustment and to include more sizes, charger box component needs to be labelled, and there needs to be clear instructions on button functions and gestures when first using the device.
